During its long history Sirti has followed pace to pace, since its origins, with the development of Italian telecommunications, starting from the first trunk connection and reaching every steps - from the most exciting to the most dramatic ones - of these long deeds.
A long and great technological and industrial adventure substantiated by a wide collection of images that form a human and technical wealth unique in its kind.
Through the faces, the places, the situations there revives the enterprise spirit, the almost skeptical curiosity of people facing the new that advances, the cheerfulness of children almost as if they were involved in an amusing game.
These pictures, together with the wide number of old equipments and instruments collected by the Company over the time into the "Museo Sirti delle Telecomunicazioni" (today given up at the University of Pavia to be merged in the new "Museo delle Tecniche Elettriche") are "Our Roots": they give witness to the commitment and the self-denial of all those who, since Sirti establishment up to our days, have been and still are the players of this exceptional adventure, having pride in what they have realized and ready to square up with enthusiasm the challenges of the future. |
